How to Delete Your Epic Games Account

At some point, you might want to get rid of your Epic games account. You might be tired of Fortnite, or you might just want to move everything over to a new account.
No matter the reason, though, you'll have to go through the same process.
Unfortunately, it can be more difficult to delete your Epic Games account than you might realize. If you're having trouble getting through the process, you should follow the directions below.
Not only will you learn how to delete your account the standard way, but you'll also learn how to get through some of the more common issues with account deletion.
The Big Problem
The big issue when you delete your Epic Games account is that there's no automated way to do so. If you check out the Epic Games page, you'll notice that you only have an option to email the company in order to get rid of your account.

Unfortunately, that email address is not actually monitored at this time - you probably won't get a reply, and even if you do the company is unlikely to actually delete your account.
Finding a Workaround
If you actually want to delete your account, you're going to have to use a specific form. Instead of searching around the site, just go here.
From there, you'll get to use a support form - one that actually gives you the option to delete your account. Make sure to select your Epic Games account from your drop-down list and to use the email address that you used to create the account.
You'll be able to choose the option to delete your account, but you'll also have to put it in writing that you want your account removed from the service. After that, it's just a matter of waiting.
Deactivating Your Account
Unfortunately, you might find yourself waiting for quite some time. Players find can find themselves with a wait from between two and five weeks, depending on the time of year and the player's location.
If you don't receive an email back, your best bet is to call Epic directly. You'll have to do a little searching to find the relevant number in your country, but it's often the best way to get in contact with a human and to get the information you need to delete your account.
Epic hasn't made it easy to delete your account. If you want it gone, you'll have to fill out a form and play the waiting game. If that doesn't work, you'll have to annoy Epic until the company complies.
No matter what you do, though, you should expect that deleting your account will take quite some time.
